Central Utility Plant Operator (1st shift)

As a Central Utility Plant Operator (1st shift), you will be a crucial asset in a 24/7/365 industrial utility operation, providing critical services including steam, chilled water, compressed air, and heated glycol to the Endicott, NY campus. Your diverse experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment will ensure the smooth operation of our industrial site and contribute to its long-term success.

  • Operating, monitoring, and maintaining steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and compressed air systems
  • Adjusting and inspecting motors, valves, pumps, heaters, and related equipment
  • Using test equipment and procedures to periodically collect samples and test boiler feedwater, condensate, chilled water, and condenser water.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a related field is advantageous
  • Six months of unskilled work experience assisting in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment, electronic equipment, electrical systems, heavy machinery, motors, engines, drives, or hydraulic systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with others in a team setting
  • A willingness to learn and adapt

Pay: $20 – $25 per hour. Compensation commensurate with experience.
