FLINT, MI – A Wisconsin based real-estate firm has purchased its second commercial building in Flint in the last two weeks.
An affiliate of Phoenix Investors has bought a 460,000-square-foot building next to Bishop Airport where Android Industries is currently located, the company said.
The building at 4444 W. Maple Ave., was purchased for $19.5 million and the sale was closed on Thursday, Oct. 12, according to Phoenix Spokesman Buddy Julius.
“It’s an area that we think that it’s rebounded,” Julius said. “It’s been really good to work with the public partners. We’re just really bullish on Flint and Genesee County. We think that it’s a good industrial sub-market.”
Julius would not discuss the terms regarding current lessee Android, citing non-disclosure agreements.
The building was constructed in 2006 for Android Industries, which is a global company that makes flexible tooling and equipment, welding and fabrication processes and coordinates global supply chain management for its clients, Phoenix said in a statement.
There are 30-foot clear ceilings, a fire suppression system and 30 loading docks, the statement said.
“The Flint region has rebounded from the water crisis of 2014 and we have been impressed by the region’s public partners,” Executive Vice President of Phoenix Investors Anthony Crivello said in a statement. “We are highly bullish on the long-term prospects of the Flint and Genesee County industrial submarket and its ability to attract national Fortune 500 companies.”
