Here at Phoenix Investors, we buy and rehab/renovate existing industrial facilities, and, in some cases, will do new, ground-up construction. We act as the landlord in both single and multi-tenant facilities; we both self-perform with our in-house construction company (Phoenix Construction) and contract-out construction for various sized projects to our facilities across the United States. In this unique position, you will do a variety of different design- and construction-related tasks. Your day-to-day tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Traveling to specific sites and doing in-field verification and documentation of existing conditions;
  • Meeting with tenants to create or go over initial programs for new alteration projects;
  • Creating new interior alteration drawings for prospective/existing tenants;
  • Coordinating with local architects and engineers to get plan packages completed;
  • Submitting said design packages for permitting or plan commission hearings depending on the type of submittal;
  • Meeting with local plan reviewers to discuss any changes or additional requirements the plans may need;
  • Attending and presenting design packages in front of local municipalities/plan commission for approvals;
  • Keeping an updated and organized master folder of all existing drawing files for Phoenix’s properties;
  • Creating new material, fixture, finish schedules for future projects;
  • Scanning and organizing existing prints found at our site or provided in a diligence package;
  • Managing the alterations taking place, depending on the size and circumstance.

This position requires an individual who is very attentive to detail and can work accurately in a fast-paced environment.  Must be well-organized, be able to work well with others and in a team, and has good verbal communication skills.  Must be a problem-solver with the ability to adapt to various situations. The individual must also have scheduling flexibility to travel in and out of state, and, in some cases, may have to stay overnight for multiple days as needed. Must also be comfortable being in a warehouse environment either with an associate or alone to do field measuring.  Must be comfortable flying on a small private plane.

Required Proficiencies:

  • AutoCAD 2019 or newer
  • Revit Architecture proficiency preferred
  • Familiar with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft programs, including Outlook
  • Familiar and knowledgeable with the 2015 International Building Code
  • Familiar and knowledgeable with the ICC/ANSI A117.1 Accessibility Code and additional ADA compliance methods
  • Familiar and knowledgeable about local Wisconsin SPS code, and the ability to identify zoning codes in the specific areas the properties-in-question are located
  • Must be familiar with construction and the various materials and methods used in the industry
  • Must be a problem-solver, learn quickly, and retain knowledge

Recommended Proficiencies:

  • Knowledge and experience with Sketchup, Rhino, or other similar rendering programs
  • Commercial drone certification (Phoenix Construction will provide training and appropriate classes to obtain if needed)
